Job Description



We’re seeking a highly experienced and motivated  Structural Engineer IV  to lead and manage structural engineering efforts across a diverse portfolio of projects. This role offers the opportunity to work from any of our office locations and play a key leadership role in shaping project outcomes, mentoring junior staff, and driving technical excellence.

The successful candidate will bring deep expertise in structural design and engineering, strong project leadership skills, and a passion for collaboration. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and is ready to take ownership of complex projects from concept through construction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead structural engineering efforts on projects of varying size and complexity, ensuring quality, budget, and schedule goals are met.
  • Manage discipline-specific budgets and coordinate closely with project managers on proposals, staffing, and scheduling.
  • Direct and mentor a team of engineers and designers (Entry-Level to Senior), fostering technical growth and collaboration.
  • Develop and oversee construction drawing packages and specifications with minimal oversight.
  • Provide advanced support during construction, including RFI responses, submittal reviews, punch lists, and progress reports.
  • Conduct site walks and field surveys to identify and resolve non-compliant conditions.
  • Ensure quality control through technical verification of design calculations and documentation.
  • Interface with clients, consultants, and internal teams to ensure alignment and successful project delivery.
  • Lead system design programming and master planning efforts on advanced projects.

Qualifications



Required:

  • ABET-accredited Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience for Lead-level candidates; 15+ years for Senior-level candidates, preferably in a design firm setting.
  • Proficiency in structural-specific software and engineering calculations.
  • Strong understanding of structural material codes, building codes, and industry standards.
  • Proven ability to coordinate across disciplines and with external partners.
  • Experience managing complex projects and leading technical teams.

Preferred:

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience developing and delivering internal training presentations.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills related to discipline-specific systems and designs.
